Young Ghana Volunteers relive the spirit of founding fathers

Volunteers in Tamale, Ghana have organized a successful Clean Up exercise to mark the National Volunteers Day ‪#‎NVDAY15‬. the exercise brought together energetic and vibrant young people who volunteered their time and energy in keeping the city of Tamale clean. The Tamale taxi ranks in the heart of Tamale and surrounding areas were cleaned. Hips of litter and waste was collected by the Ghanaian cleaning agency Zoom Lion to designated dumping sites.

The icing on the cake was the visit to the Tamale Childrens Home were volunteers made donations to the children.Volunteers also visited the Tamale West Hospital and interacted with children in Children`s ward.

The initiative is to get as many people as possible in Ghana to volunteer their time or do community service on the Founder’s Day Holiday on September 21 each year. The pictures below show the spirit of the founding fathers of Ghana being rekindled.
